He stepped into the hall and suddenly there she was right in front of him. He gasped but pretended it was a cough, and hoped she didn't hear. "Hey," he said as she ignored and walked on. He looked at her up and down as she strutted away. She took a big step then flung her head around, causing her hair to rise and create a short-lived wreath around her head. She looked in the direction of him, but not directly at him. He kept his head in the same place but moved his eyes from side to side. By now her hair had fallen and she was walking away from him, backwards. Staring toward him, she became smaller and smaller. In a blink, he convinced himself to forget her, but when his eyes opened, the two of them were nose to nose. She gazed at him, but after a few seconds, started walking backwards again. He knew that he should turn and walk away, but he won't.
