crooked stones

Who'd ever think I'd end up here,
under the crooked stones?
I see her pale face turn to red,
my smiles turned into moans.

I met my Kate a foggy day,
absorbed in total bliss.
I knew she'd sparked the life in me,
I knew it as we kissed.

The sweetest personality,
without a single flaw.
Kate made my life a sacred song,
she sang it, I in awe.

A date in town we journeyed,
engaged in joyous cheer.
and as the pink sky turned to black,
I'd nothing there to fear.

So short she shed her light on me,
my heart burst from the seams,
but on that night, a shallow hate,
consumed my every dream.

We strolled along the busy street,
past market, mall, and store,
and there were much more lovely girls,
than I had ever seen before.

Kate spoke, then yelled, her face blood red,
she said I crossed the line.
I'd winked at one attractive girl,
who surely wasn't mine.

What evil things that some will do,
they hide it in disguise.
A tiny prick of jealousy,
led Kate to my surprise.

Kate took me home she kicked and screamed,
my terror had begun,
but as I tried to reason her,
she shot the silver gun...

Who'd ever think I'd end up here,
under the crooked stones?
I see her pale face turn to red,
my smiles turned into moans.
